  anyone have any pet peeves they'd like to air?

  here's one that just happened at work that is an annoyance for me: when you are speaking and the person interrupts the conversation with a corny play on words or the like.

  for example, "i had to sit on the phone on hold for about 5 minutes, waiting .

  Artificial Insemination-Any Penalty?

  i will need to do some research on this but perhaps one of you fine folks know the answer to my question(s).. if a single (or widowed) jw woman wanted to have a child and she wanted to carry the baby herself (as opposed to adoption) and she decided to have artificial insemination, would the elder's try to df her?

  what stance does the society take on this issue?

  i mean, she didn't have sex.

  Another Family With JW Ties Murdered in Oregon

  i just saw this in the news this morning.

  a father killed his family and them himself.

  this happened in mcminnvile, oregon just outside of portland, oregon.

  I can't stand the way YoYoMama fires off a salvo and then hides under a rock afterwards.

  Um, YoYo, the article didn't say they were 'apostate', it said they were shunned. This means that most likely they were DF'd.

  So, YoYo, they were in the same boat as YOU. Aren't you DF'd?
  Perhaps the cops need to put a tracer on your arse so that you don't harm those closest (if any at all) to you.

  Imagine all of the gossip when the "friends" begin to notice that she's single yet pregnant.

  Why the posting limits (& some stats)

  i though some statistics may highlight the reason for them - these are the number of posts per month since the forum started.

  "let's accept that the organization is imperfect because it is made up of imperfect humans.".

  but let's analyse why that statement is made.

  i have heard it used when i made points like: "how can it the organization be spirit directed if it makes mistakes and chanages its doctrines?

  i was just reading through the codes for my city (irving, tx) and discovered something interesting: a person or organization must register with the city secretary's office before they can go house-to-house for religious reasons (aka, jehovah's witnesses going door-to-door).. .

  i've always wondered how people who partake in the emblems of christ know that they belong to the anointed class.

  what signs or symptons do these people experience?

  does gabriel appear in naked in their dreams?

  Rutherford appears in their dreams to inform them they have been chosen.
  You are correct about being naked, though.
  Rutherford is naked riding a multi-colored horse since all the other horses of color are spoken for already (see Revelation).

  celebrating the death of Jesus

  am i the only one bothered by the way the jw's refer to the memorial as a celebration of the death of jesus?.

  i understand that jesus said to keep the tradition of the last meal, but should it be referred to as a celebration?

  this should be a solemn occasion and not one we would look forward to celebrating.
